What is a Celebrant?
Celebrant
or Official is the leader of a liturgy or ceremony who is empowered to perform
it by qualification to present the Eulogy at a burial or cremation.
Why choose a Celebrant?
In this day and
age so many of us believe in the Almighty but choose not to go to church on
Sunday. We feel that when we die we
still want to have a service with some prayers or not but would also feel hypocritical
to have our service held by a Priest or Vicar.
These people chose a Celebrant.
A Celebrant can conduct their service in the way they wish it to be conducted. If they would wish for a few prayers, it would happen. It they don’t want any prayers, then that’s fine also.
A service conducted in the way the deceased would what it to be conducted.

About Funeral Celebrants
A Funeral Celebrant is a person who can help plan, write and lead a Funeral service. People from all walks of life choose to become a celebrant but all are motivated by a strong desire to help families give the person who has died a good send-off, one that honours, gives thanks for, and, even, celebrates a life.
Some Celebrants are introduced to families by a Funeral Director, others are approached directly. Either way, all will work closely with the family and the funeral director to ensure everything goes to plan.

What are the options?
There are no fixed rules about what a funeral ceremony should be. You can honour, celebrate and say 'goodbye' to your loved one in whatever way suits you and your family and friends.
Where do we start?
We'll probably have a short telephone chat to arrange for me to come and visit you at home. I'll listen to you tell me about your loved one, and we'll chat about what you would like for the ceremony.
I'll support you all the way
You can be as involved as you wish in creating the ceremony or on the day. Taking an active part in your loved one’s service may be important for you and your family. I can officiate, facilitate or just be there for support.
